Hello James,
Good luck in your new venture.
I now have ‘Coastalview and Moor News’ as part of my favourites.
I can now keep up with the area I grew up in and miss so much.
Irene Lancaster.
Just received Issue 13 through the door… have to say that the proposed wind farm in skelton will look a hundred times better than the vertical pier proposal at Redcar.
A pier is a raised structure, including bridge and building supports and walkways, over water, typically supported by widely spread piles or pillars.
The wind farms are peaceful to look at and they are a modern outlook for future generations, at least they will look natural compared to the pier that will look out of place in Redcar.
It will look hideous and Redcar will be a laughing stock.
Isn’t it time that the Labour leadership of Redcar & Cleveland Council listened to the people? We, the citizens of Redcar & Cleveland, emphatically DO NOT WANT A VERTICAL PIER. The plan should be scrapped without further ado!
Steve Kay, Esat Cleveland Independent Councillor, Redcar & Cleveland Council
I have just read your (issue 13) back page article about the Europro golf tour coming to Brotton, or should I say Saltburn. For years now we, the people of Brotton, have been shunned by every positive newspaper article ever written in order to enhance the reputation of neighbours Saltburn. Which is by no means superior to our village. Perhaps on this occasion though, it is not newspaper but the golf club. Could it be that Hunley Hall is ashamed of its Address? Could it be that the new owners feel that they are above a small village like Brotton? Saltburn has a golf club. Its called Saltburn Golf Club. Many of Hunley Hall’s members, some are even friends, have been lifetime members and live in Brotton.
Has anybody heard of Pilton, in Somerset? You should have.
