Friends of St Germains Remembrance Day service on Friday 11th November

A new group has been formed called Friends of St Germains.

They maintain and improve the churchyard plus look into the history of the churchyard and those buried there.

What they have found is that there are 17 war dead in the churchyard and as the working party of the group normally meets in the churchyard on a Friday at 11:00 hours, they have decided to hold a Remembrance Day service on Friday 11th November 2011 in the churchyard, which will start at 10 45 hours it will be a short service conducted by the Rev Janet Fife from St Mark’s Church in Marske. There will be  sounding the last post etc, children from Errington school will sing a song, a poem will be read and the names of the 17 war dead will be read out by members of the committee, and crosses will be placed on the graves.
