Motorist are being warned that a road closure will come into force over the Easter weekend, as work progresses on a new Tesco eco-store.
The A1085 Trunk Road will close at its junction with Normanby Road, in South Bank, from 10am on Friday, April 6, to 3pm on Monday, April 9.
The move will allow Bardon Construction to carry out resurfacing work ahead of the opening of the Tesco eco-store at Low Grange.
Traffic travelling along Normanby Road will not be able to turn left or right onto the Trunk Road at their junction. Instead, signed diversion routes will be in place using Fabian Road, Church Lane and the A66.
The Tesco store is set to open on April 12, creating 300 new jobs – a third of which are guaranteed for the long-term unemployed.
Anyone wanting further information about the work should contact Dave Slater, in Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s highways department, on 01287 612579 or 07909 906495.
