Kirkleatham Museum celebrates the Diamond Jubilee

THIS year Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style by holding a huge street party and everyone is invited.

On Monday, June 4, between 10am and 3pm, the grounds of Kirkleatham Museum will be transformed into a street party wonderland complete with our very own King and Queen.

Bring along your own picnic or buy some Jubilee themed food from the on-site cafe and sit at the decorated tables to join in the fun.

The street party will be the ultimate family day with activities including face painting, donkey rides, children’s rides, traditional games, music and dancing with spot prizes.

There will also be the chance to be crowned Prince and Princess of Kirkleatham Museum, to those who come complete in fancy dress.

Jubilee themed arts and crafts will also be available, including pottery painting and paper crafts at a small cost.

The fun will continue at the Museum over the Jubilee weekend and into the half term week with Jubilee themed arts and crafts and the My Little Pony Experience.

The My Little Pony Experience teaches youngsters how to how to look after a Shetland pony & a beach donkey, from grooming to feeding to getting ready for a walk around the museum. Spaces are limited and cost £8 per session. Places must be booked by contacting 01642 496442.

The craft activities and My Little Pony Experience also will be available on June 2, 3, 6 and 7
