Stroke Association 20th Anniversary Celebrations: ‘Sip for Stroke’ afternoon, on 15 June

As part of the Stroke Association 20th Anniversary Celebrations we are holding a ‘Sip for Stroke’ afternoon, on 15 June, which will also include details of our new re-brand launch, (the brand was officially launched on 1 May).

At our local event, the theme we have chosen is a ‘Sip for Stroke’ afternoon.

We see the afternoon as very informal, where people can come along and support the Stroke Association but also have an opportunity to meet with other community services as well.

We won’t just be providing information though we also intend for people to come along and have some fun on our other stalls ie tombola, raffle, bric-a-brac etc as well as enjoying the obligatory ‘cup of tea and a slice of cake.’

We feel the theme we have chosen will give people an opportunity to mingle, catch-up with old friends as well as a chance to talk to Stroke Association staff and volunteers alongside other services who are attending.

I am also delighted to say on the day, we will be supported by the Mayor.

The details for the event are:

Date/Time      Friday, 15 June, 1.30 – 4.00 pm

Venue             Newcomen Church , Mersey Road , Redcar

Stroke is one of the greatest health challenges of our time and it is the third biggest killer after heart disease and cancer and the leading cause of adult disability in the UK.  In this, our 20th anniversary year, we are calling on all our supporters and friends to work with us to change the world for people affected by stroke.
