Whitby’s own celebration of the sea through music song and spoken word is firming up to be a truly great weekend. Shanty Crews, Folk Music and Poetry will be all around The Resolution Hotel and Whitby Museum between July 20 and 22nd.
We have a stunning guest list which includes something for everyone particularly if you like your music ‘salty’. Artists include Monkeys Fist, Men Of Staithes, The Ramshackle Shantymen,Wendy Arrowsmith, Glenn Coggin, Blue Sun, Tom & Barbara Brown, Martin Curtis , Bill Adair, the colourful local band Stormcrow and Richard Grainger.

Acts from all over the UK are performing over the weekend and singers from Belgium and New Zealand will also be making an appearance.
One of the organisers Richard Grainger said ‘We are really grateful to the Resolution Hotel for their support as our main sponsors and their assistance has been invaluable in making this happen for Whitby. We will use The Bridge as our concert venue, The Main Deck as our open mic stage and The Vault will be home for a sea song and shanty themed singaround.
