Pre-school children from St Nicholas’ Nursery in Guisborough are helping to make a big difference to other little children, by taking part in the Barnardo’s Big Toddle 2012 inGisboroughPrioryWoodlandGardens. And everyone else is welcome to join in too.
By doing a short sponsored walk on Thursday 23 August, between2pmand3.30pm, toddlers will be raising money for Barnardo’s local projects throughout theUKfor under 5s. These projects include family centres, playgroups and parenting support services.
The toddle will be just one circuit of the Monks’ Walk, a diamond-shaped, tree lined path in the gardens.
The theme for the Big Toddle 2012 is Superheroes. Toddlers can dress up as their favourite Superboys and Supergirls and get powered-up with superhero-themed activities, making themselves real-life heroes for the day. Everyone can join in the fun and help make the day a big hit with the little ones!
All toddlers will get a free cooling drink and biscuit as a reward for their efforts. Teas and homemade cakes will also be available to buy, made and served by Gisborough Priory Project volunteers
Everyone is invited to visit the woodland gardens on the day, sponsored or not, to enjoy a stroll in the woodland gardens.
Gisborough Priory Project volunteer, Carol Robinson, who is helping organise the Toddle, says: “It will be fun to see the children take part in the Big Toddle and great that they will raise money for Barnardo’s at the same time.”
Visitors can enter through Gisborough Priory and ask for directions across the priory to the Monks’ Walk where the toddling will take place. Entry will be free of charge between2pmand3.30pmon Thursday 23 August for all toddlers and their supporters.
