Opportunity to try out a new skill at college open night

People have the opportunity to try their hand at a series of skills when Redcar & Cleveland College holds an open night later this month (October).
The college is holding an open evening for prospective students between 5pm and 8pm on Tuesday, October 16, when members of the public can look around the facilities, talk to tutors and take part in Have a Go taster sessions.
A number of free sessions will be available, including forensic science, mock flight experience, mechanical engineering, Photoshop, joinery, plastering, plumbing, bricklaying, nail art and hair skills, to name a few.
Anyone who wishes to develop their skills in a particular field will be able to have a go, while gaining advice from tutors and learning about the courses that are available.
College Principal Gary Groom said: “We are delighted to be holding Have A Go taster sessions again this autumn. They have proved very popular in the past, so we hope people come along to try out different skills for themselves. It’s time to show off all of those hidden talents.
“The sessions and open evening are a great way to discover what our courses are about and to learn what life is like at Redcar & Cleveland College.”
