Moneywise offers free advice and support on welfare benefits, debt, home energy and savings to Redcar & Cleveland residents.
It is made up of a group of organisations in Redcar and Cleveland, including Welfare Rights, Citizens Advice Bureau, Warm and Well, Coast and Country, Moneytree and GLEN Credit Unions, to name a few.
The Moneywise team have organised a series of roadshows which aim to bring advice and awareness to local people. The first event took place on Redcar High Street on the 3rd November and the advisers helped over 125 members of the public with benefit issues, finding a better gas and electricity deal, how to sign up for a credit union bank account and much more.
Further roadshows are planned for:

Farndale Square Dormanstown – Monday 3 Dec 2012, 4pm – 7pm
ASDA South Bank – Friday 7 Dec 2012, 10am – 3pm

Saltburn Square – Thursday 13 Dec 2012, 10am – 3pm

These changes could potentially affect thousands of people when they are introduced next year.
