Three massive logs from an Ash tree are seeking a new home. The tree was felled in East Cleveland some weeks ago. The diseased sections have been removed and three huge logs remain.
“They are of three different lengths, about three feet, four feet and five feet and up to almst two feet in diameter,” said a spokesman. “They are such large pieces that it would be a shame to reduce them to firewood.”
The owner has asked to remain anonymous so as not to risk the logs being stolen as they would be worth several hundred pounds on the commercial market.
“There may be someone who has the ability to slice them into planks for furniture making or could even turn them into outdoor wood sculptures,” added the spokesman. The owner hopes that they can be put to a good use in return for a donation to a nominated charity.
