Voluntary and community organisations across Redcar and Cleveland are being invited to bid for grant funding to improve the health and wellbeing of residents.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council created the £50,000 Community Fund to support voluntary and community groups across the borough and help build capacity in local communities to improve health and wellbeing and promote independence.
Councillor Sheelagh Clarke, Cabinet Member for health and social wellbeing, said: “Voluntary and community groups play an absolutely vital role in our borough and this scheme offers a great opportunity for them to enhance and maintain their work.
“We would like to invite groups to apply for grants between £300 and £1,000 towards initiatives that have a positive effect on the health and well-being of local residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable or socially isolated within our borough.”
To apply please go to www.rcvda.org.uk or contact Mal Fitzgerald at the RCVDA on 01642 440571. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 30 September 2013.
